Au revoir! I love you! :D
Miraculously then, Malistaire disappeared into smoke, black and wicked, blending into the night surrounding them without an explanation as to why. He left me alone with questions. He left me alone in the hell of which he created. I was left with the ashes and blood of my family, the newly found discrimination from the world, without a home, and the beginning of a war on my hands. But that’s not the worst part. It was the fact that it was the beginning that frightened me.

Sneak peak from the 2nd book
Alrighty... So i've decided that i can place a sneak peak of the second book here, considering it doesnt give that much away to the 1st book. In this story, the main character is not Mary... But somebody close to her. I hope you enjoy it as much as i enjoyed writing it (Even though its a short clip.)
Think of this as a treat b/c i havent posted anything for a while :P
Btw! I thank my friends Nicole Daisysinger and Wolf Deathbringer for helping me get some fantastic ideas for the second book. Thank you and I love you, my friends!
Now, here is the clip from the upcoming book of "The Power Game" series. (Thats what i decided to call my series). The book's name is "The Scarlet Dove."

I stared into the mirror. Startling eyes stared back at me, nervous for the upcoming approach. I brushed my dark hair carefully, as though brushing incorrectly was going to ruin the whole appearance.
I was half a person. Half a soul, and half of a personality. I was never whole, and I will never be. That’s what mother says.
She tells me I’m a half angel. I also have powers.
Mother Lucinda had always said I had special powers. She said that bringing things back from the dead, and having the ability to keep mankind young forever, was special.
I lived in the dark. My world was my home. I was always told that where I was, it was all there was. I had a feeling it was right. However, every other day, Mother Lucinda would come into my dark rooms. I would never know where she came from, or where she has been, but I have looked before. However, it is always hard to see through the dim corridors of where I lived. Some rooms or corners would be totally black- as though demons from my gloomy books were there to haunt me.
“There is no other place than this castle in the world.” Mother had told me. “Stay in your rooms, and you will be forever safe. Stay with me and give me your immortality, and you will always be safe.”
Safe was our word to each other.
Trapped, I would have never had known.

I cant believe.... Ugh...
Soooo I just remembered that I gave one friend my blog adress thingy to read my story. They read ONLY the prologue, and talked to me the next day.
Guess what she said?
The opposite of what everybody has been saying about my story 0_0
She told me that she didnt understand the story, and couldnt follow it (*Ahem...* Prologue??) And that I probably had a million grammer problems.
I'm quite sure I know how to write without grammer problems /: I'm not stupid.
So, yeah, my story was a "failure" to her b/c she didnt read past the prologue. Oh well.
Ugh... I smell nasty old ketchup and dirt somewhere... *gag*. I dont even have ketchup in my house... D:
ANYWAYS, on better topics, I've finally gotten past the super hard part of my story, and into the kind of hard part!! :D! Yayzz...
Oh, and I also have no homework :3 That works too, as good newz.
I have heard about signs for houses; of course, I dont need a sign for my house because I'm so famous *wink*, and everybody knows where my manor is ;) I'm just wondering if later you can write what you want on the signs... Like: WELCOME, FOOL! GET YOUR LAZY BUTT IN MY FUZZERNICKLING HOUSE!!!
Well, thats what I would do. I scream that at my cat, why not at people? :)
Well, its like midnight, so i'm gonna go sleep. I love you all, and will (Maybe) post tomorrow!!!

Chapter 43 :D
Chapter forty-two—Queen Cecilia and the Mysteries within
Before Sophia could speak anymore of her past and dreams, the grand door of the guest bedroom was opened. Standing there was a dog; a poodle. She was standing on her hind legs, wearing a blue puffed out dress with a tight corset. Ribbons decorated her gown, hair, and matched the blue of her eyes and spectacles. Her nose and ears were pink in fury, and the spiky golden crown upon her head made her look powerful and dangerous; even for a canine.
Abby stood up immediately, and bowed with grace. “Welcome, your Majesty.”
Slowly, everybody stood up cautiously, and bowed as well at the poodle standing there rigid as a slab of concrete. In such a serious situation, I’d never find myself laughing inside at the thought of bowing to a Queen who’s a damn poodle.
“What in the Spiral of insane events has happened here?!” Her voice was rich and shrill, and I forced my head up to see her paws and spectacles shaking in shock.
“You’re Majesty, I…” Abby looked down to her hands. She didn’t know how to explain what happened, just like everybody else.
Queen Cecilia shook her head curtly, disappointed in Abby’s clueless answer. “I want to know from the lady who killed the beast, along with ruining the fine gown I had sent her out of my own generosity.”
I winced, knowing the dress subject would turn up eventually. In defense, I spoke up. “Your Majesty… I had no choice. If I didn’t attack the wolf at that very moment, then somebody would have been killed.”
“Killed? Ha! Not with my guards. You’re just a girl; what makes you think you’re so powerful?”
“I bet that its one of your guards whom provoked the wolf.” I retorted. “They evidently didn’t expect a huge wolf crashing through the ballroom windows, did they?”
“Well, with the parents you’ve grown up with, you would know if somebody was going to be slaughtered or not.” The Queen replied haughtily. “I wou-“
“You know, the parenting insults against me are kind of getting on my last nerves.” I interrupted, and the people in the room stared in shock at my rude outburst, but I didn’t care. “It seems like every dang person I meet thinks I’m as crazy as my father. I am not him, and I will never be him. I’ve never met him in my life until my first days of Ravenwood; if you seriously think that I’m on his side, then you shall reconsider it, because I wouldn’t want to be with a person who wants my head. You can stay out of my business, because I don’t give a crap anymore. I’m sorry I ruined the dress, I’m sorry I saved a life or two, and I’m sorry that I joined this Enforcement facility to be kind, generous, and to save the race of the Enchanted people.”
People were standing and staring at me, with no expression on their faces. The Queen’s eyes were wide, and her mouth was not as pinched. Slowly, cautiously and as though in a dream, she sat down and actually looked like she understood. However, she didn’t say anything to correct her past words, and I didn’t apologize for my outburst.
I was tired of living like a blind person, as though I’m sick inside without a sense of feeling. My mother and sister’s were the only people rooting me down to the ground, and it felt like every time I meet a new person, they cut a little bit of the root. Sooner or later, I’m going to be a hopeless body full of nothing.
While I was staring at the floor, trying to figure out what to say, I glanced at the Queen’s expression every few seconds. I was surprised to see a smile on her face, and her anger was gone. Instead, it was relief. I raised my eyebrow.
“Please leave the room.” The Queen turned her head back to the guards who were walking besides her entering the room, and they nodded. Reluctantly they left the room, and I had a feeling they were right outside the door.
I’ve been wrong about situations like these, but there were words in the back of my head telling me suspicions. I had a feeling deep in my gut that the Queen knew something. I studied the looks on my sister’s faces, and they all had the same face that I believe I had when I realized the Queen was smiling.
“Uh… Your Majesty..?” Nikki’s voice trembled in slight anxiety, but nobody seemed to notice but me. “Whats going on?”
The Queen fixed her sapphire blue eyes upon mine. “You are more like your mother than you’re good for… Stubborn as talking to a wall. Indeed, I am more pleased than I thought I would be. Please, relax, and I shall explain my reasoning on your search.”
“My… Search?” I hesitated, trying to remember a time I told her I was searching for something. Has somebody been filling her in on my duties?
“Your mother traveled here when I was a young canine, and you weren’t even born yet.” I saw the Queen smile slightly, and she fanned herself with a delicate fan. “She was sweet as honey, and nurturing as a woman of life could become. Oh, how devastated I was when I figured out she was dead… Then you popped up in the newspapers! I would have never known.”
“She traveled here?” I asked, surprised. I couldn’t imagine my mother in ball gowns and feasting upon fine dinners and sleeping in lavish beds. “Why?”
“Because, my dear.” The Queen was now referring to all of us, regarding the look in her eyes. “She was searching for the same thing you are searching for now. Of course, she would never tell me, but she helped kidnap robbers and solve crimes, and she always had a small piece of evidence that meant the world to her.”
“She did all that?” I gasped. I would have never guessed my mother was a… Crime fighter?
“How do we know you’re not lying?” Sophia spoke suspiciously, eyeing the Queen. “What is in it for you?”
The Queen bit her lip. “Well, I suppose that is an acceptable answer, considering the danger you are all in constantly.” She sighed, and put her paw on my arm. “But if you must know, we made the citrine amulet that you are wearing right in Marleybone’s finest factories, Mary.”
I touched my amulet gently. “You did?”
The Queen nodded. “It was a special request from Sylvia. She ordered it to be unstoppable, undeniable, and guaranteed to help one in battle. How is the sword?”
“It… Works fantastic.” I raised my eyebrow, now knowing she is no traitor. “I’ve never fought with a sword before these times, and with the amulet’s transformation of a sword, I feel like I’ve been practicing for eternity.”
“So, you’ve made Mary’s amulet.” Nikki played with a string on her corset. “So what?”
“Well, do you trust Sylvia Drake?” The Queen asked softly.
“Of course I do… Why wouldn’t I?” Nikki replied stubbornly.
“Then you shall trust me, because she trusted me as well.” The Queen answered curtly, and I believed that my sisters trusted her as much as I do. How else could a person know that my amulet is also a sword, but the maker itself?
“Why are you here, your Majesty?” Abby asked, cocking her head to the side. “Besides telling us that you knew Mary’s mother.”
“Well, it’s quite devastating, really.” The Queen spoke heavily. “It appears that the Mysterious Woman is not… Sophia.”
So, apparently the Queen knew about that. I figured she must have spies all around; how else would she have gotten the information?
“B-but that’s impossible.” Sophia exclaimed. “I was there for all the Mysterious Woman crimes, but it was the wolf that killed those people.”
The Queen shook her head. “The murders are still continuing, and people are still seeing a woman in black on the rooftops. However, this time, its not a wolf’s doing.”
I frowned. “Maybe you should tell us what the Fates told you, Sophia. Perhaps it relates to that.”
Sophia shook her head. “The Fates told me nothing of these certain events. They only told me that we will go to the Marleybone Museum ’s Clock tower at the fourth “thing” we are searching for.” She eyed the Queen. “However, this was before we discovered Abby.”
Abby’s half-state, I thought. A mystery that’s hard to solve.
“You said that they told you a lot of things.” Abby reminded, and Sophia nodded in agreement.
“They also told me a prophecy. Its rather chilling, I must warn you.”
“What I don’t understand is why you didn’t tell me this before.” I stated irritably.
“I can’t tell you anything when we are being bounty hunted by a huge wolf that wants to rip your face off.” Sophia retorted softly.
I nodded numbly. “Continue.”
“The prophecy was given to me by three ravens. The Fates sent me in an allusion state, where there were trees and snow and stars. There, by a huge willow tree, were the ravens. They each told me at the same time, with their voices as shrill and mysterious as anything could be.” Sophia crossed her arms, as if cold. “They stated this prophecy:
Cross your soul and kill the light
Good or Evil, it’s still a lie
Every witching hour you shan’t fly
Thy shall bleed
Shards of thy too sharp to connect
Shards of thy too big to never matter in the blood of an Angel’s breath
Thou refuse the drink of a spirit’s well,
You shall look the seers in the eye, and cross the death of thee of a lover’s promise.”
We sat there, silently in shock. The prophecy was of love and death.
“Oh my,” Nikki gasped. “That’s quite intense. Which one of us was the prophecy for?”
“They didn’t tell me that.” Sophia spoke with sorrow. “But we must not trust anybody, even if you fall in love with them. Evidently a promise is broken or something and somebody dies because of it.”
“Does it have to do with anything of the clock tower?” Abby interrupted, her lips pursed tightly. Her skin was paler in the moonlight than I’ve seen for a long time. She looked like a spiritual black witch, with her dark satins and contrast of her raven hair and moon skin.
“I don’t know.” Sophia’s head perked up and I saw Nikki look around as well. “But I think there is somebody on the roof.”
“What?” I stood up, and walked out into my balcony. Looking up, there was nothing but a polluted starry sky. “There’s nothing out here.”
“I heard it, too.” Nikki said strangely, walking outside besides me. Sophia and Abby stood in the doorway and the Queen sat on a settee with a worried expression.
“It was probably nothing.” Abby decided, and she walked back in.
However, I was already climbing up the brick wall of the building when I heard the piercing scream of a girl.

Chapter forty-one—Slayer of the Bewitchers
I stared at her, gawking. Strands of my soaked hair stuck to my face, and I moved them back with my hand swiftly. Standing up, my black dress stuck to my skin. The wind whipped by cold hair around, and I shouted through the noise. “Angel of the Hunt?”
She nodded, and I saw a wisp of smile. “The name’s Sophia.” She glanced around her, worry creasing her face. “We need to get out of here before it attacks. Take my hand, and hurry.”
“Wait.” I gasped, still faint from the past events. “We need to heal Abby.”
Sophia scanned the scene, and she looked as though she just realized Abby was there, bleeding on the side. I saw that she had taken out the knife that pierced her stomach. Sophia rushed over, and tucked a piece of midnight hair behind her ear. When she touched Abby’s wound gently, she made a confused face. “There is gold in… Her blood. However, it’s so red…”
“She’s half Seraphina-Alleyen.” I answered, kneeling before her. “Can you heal her?”
Sophia didn’t waste any time on asking questions. “My main school is life, despite my Angel nature. Just give me a moment.”
Doing something very similar to what I did to Nikki back in Krokotopia, she performed it more gracefully and kindness. She didn’t sweat, pale, or look exhausted from the large amount of energy leaving her body. She only looked natural.
Abby opened her eyes in wonder. “Mary?”
“No, darling,” Sophia smiled, standing up. “It’s just me.”
Abby stood up, frowning. “You have her eyes.”
“Abby, meet our new sister.” I introduced her. “Her name is Sophia.”
Before Abby could say anything, Sophia cracked her fingers in a quick motion. “We don’t have time to wait; if it finds me, then it might kill you guys before I kill it again.”
“It? Another one of those clones?” I asked.
“No, the wolf. Oh, by the way, those weren’t clones. They’re called Bewitchers.” Sophia took my hand, and made me go down the ladder to the balcony first. When she attempted to go inside, I took her arm in protest.
“We need to stay outside.” I decided, “You won’t like it in there- trust me. Not with our things soaked.”
“Mary,” She looked annoyed. “If we don’t go now, the wolf will catch my scent.”
I shook my head in confusion. “B-but you’ve already killed the wolf? And what is a Bewitcher-”
Sophia interrupted me. “Many times, and I cannot explain what a Bewitcher is at the moment; we’re in great danger.”
Abby gasped. “Mary… Your spirit animal… It’s so beautiful.”
I raised my eyebrow. “Don’t you see my spirit animal when we are in danger?”
I saw Sophia pale, and all of a sudden she had her majestic bow in her hand. “Stay back.” She ordered.
I stepped forward, taking her arm. “You know I can’t do that.’
All of a sudden, it was as though I was experiencing the dream I had the other night all over again. The same, horrid and humongous roar echoed through the night, and all of a sudden I felt this large balcony rumble. I heard screams inside, and we rushed into the ballroom. Ladies and gentlemen and animals were scattering, trying to get away from the beast charging. I saw that the grand window showing off the night sky was shattered, and glass scattered the floor like ice. A wolf as big as an elephant was charging towards us. In my dream, the wolf would kill anything in its way. Right now, it only saw us in its devil eyes.
I heard a little shriek, and I saw Xena flying around the room in a dangerous way. It dove down, and scratched at the huge wolf. However, pulling out tufts of wolf hair wasn’t helping much.
Suddenly, somebody threw a dagger at the wolf’s head, near its eye. It slit the wolf’s skin, and it was enough to get the wolf’s attention. The wolf roared, and reared its body, and charged the way the object was thrown. Somebody screamed.
In order to save somebody’s life from their stupidity, I saw Sophia shoot the wolf with a bright golden flash of her bow. It landed in the wolf’s hind leg, and I had my citrine sword from my amulet. Using my sword to cut off the part of the dress that made it harder to run, my gown was now shredded and to my knees. Charging forward, I stupidly climbed up on the wolf’s back.
I held on tight to the black fur for my life, and it reared up like a horse. The wolf’s scream sounded like a dinosaur as I stuck the sword straight into its lungs, and blood began pouring out of both wounds. I jumped off the wolf with my sword, just as it fell. Its blood covered my right side, and I tumbled into the marble floor. I felt a snap in my wrist as I hit a nearby pillar, and I felt a new throb in my head. However, I felt pure satisfaction in saving a person’s life- even though I don’t know who that person was. The wolf lay dead on the floor, and it burned up like last time into ashes.
I saw a flash of red, and noticed Nikki kneeling over me, her eyes glistening in worry. “Mary, please tell me your okay..?”
“I’m alright-“I sat up a little, and my shoulder ached. “I just think I broke my wrist.”
“Need me to heal it?” Sophia asked, also rushing forward. “You handled the wolf like a true fighter. Good job.”
“Err,” I responded cleverly, healing my own wounds with my life magic. “Thanks.”
It took a moment to realize everybody was staring at me. Abby was checking to see if Caspian was alright, and he actually looked like he cared for everybody. When I was gazing at Abby and him, he seemed to sense somebody was looking at him, and he turned his head and we made contact. Quickly, I averted my eyes, and stood up carefully. Trying to ignore the chills of Caspian’s gaze, I looked Sophia straight in the eyes. “You need to tell me why the wolf came back.”
She nodded. “I will.”
I saw Abby walk over, and she put her hand on my shoulder. “I didn’t get to tell you before, Mary, but your spirit animal…”
I raised my eyebrow at her. “What is it?”
“It’s a black horse with wings.” She smiled. “I’ve never seen anything like it.”
“You mean… A Pegasus?”
She nodded. “But it’s different. More real.”
“Alright then.” I replied thoughtfully.
I saw Sophia chuckle, and Nikki was staring at her strangely.
“Is this..?” Nikki’s eyes widened and I realized that she hadn’t been told of the news yet.
“Sophia is the Angel of the Hunt and Battle strategy. She saved me from a… Bewitcher.” I responded, choosing my words carefully. Meanwhile, a large thunderous noise came out of the ballroom.
I looked up, and realized people were clapping for us. Nikki, Sophia, Abby and I. I smiled, trying to hide my sorrow, and a few servants escorted us out of the ballroom.
They took us to my room, and we all sat down feverishly. A maid quietly told us to wait, and that Queen Cecilia will be visiting our rooms. None of us shouted in excitement or felt anything. We didn’t know if this was a good or a bad thing, considering that a random wolf had jumped through the ballroom windows, and it could be our entire fault.
When the maid left, Nikki spoke up immediately. “Now is a good time to explain what happened. Especially you, Sophia.”
“Alright.” Sophia sighed, and she shifted into a more comfortable position on the plush couch near the fireplace. “What do you need to know?”
“How you got here, where you’re from, how you figured out about the S.A…” Abby spoke up articulately.
“Well…” Sophia frowned, as if trying to remember something. “My father was an adventurer. He had always said that there were Angels out there, and that he was going to find one.”
We nodded, and she continued. “One day, he comes back from DragonSpyre claiming that he found an Angel-“
“Where is DragonSpyre?” I asked, interrupting. I felt myself blush as they glared at me.
“It’s a world where the Titans had fought. Everything is very bad there, now. Oh, and by bad, I mean all in ruins and lava and…” Nikki trailed off, thinking.
“Like where Mary and I were.” Abby frowned, glancing at Sophia. “Right?”
“Actually, the place did look like DragonSpyre, but you weren’t actually there.” Sophia explained. “Bewitcher’s are not demons; they are not part of the Enchanted race, either. They are creatures that can become anybody’s appearance they wish to, and the particular one that you guys experienced also changed the scene, so it would have been a very powerful Bewitcher.”
“Would have been?”
“I killed it.” Sophia answered, smirking. “Now, back to the story… My father had traveled to DragonSpyre, and had come back very different. Every day, he was becoming more and more insane. On his last days, he lost his voice, so he had to write everything down.” Sophia winced. I couldn’t imagine losing a parent slowly, even though I could imagine losing one very fast, like me.
“And he wrote you down something?” Nikki guessed.
“Yes,” Sophia replied, “He told me that my mother’s Angel was watching me, and that I had a big destiny. However, he told me that my dead mother told him to show me where I had to go. Then, my father told me to search for a girl named Mary Ravengem- and mind you, this is before your family’s death, Mary.”
I perked up, wondering why her father knew me so long ago. However, nobody noticed. “When my father died, I picked up my stuff and began my search. When I had seen in the newspaper about the big event with Sylvia Drake’s second death, and about Mary, I knew.” Sophia crossed her arms. “I knew there was something connected with Mary and me.”
I heard a squawk, and I noticed Xena cleaning her wings on top of my dresser. Nobody paid attention to her, however.
“And then, just when I was becoming confused, I got a dream.” Sophia smiled. “From the Fates… And I met one of them.
“You met…” I gasped. “You met one of the Fates?”
“Yes,” Sophia answered. “And they told me a lot of things we need to know.”
